Let's Get Physical

Well ok, no one was getting physical, but my oldest had a physical. Since he will be starting 7th grade (already?) in the Fall, he needed to get updated shots. I figured since he hasn't been seen for a while, why not do a full check-up. Good thing is, he is a healthy, growing boy. He is just about off the charts on height/weight for his age. He is catching up quickly to me, I'm 5'8 and he is 5'5. It is hard to believe that almost 12 years ago this big kid fit inside my tummy! So after getting his physical, we got the news that he needed 4 shots! (We came for just the one required for school.) Well he is a trooper and handled them all well. Must be that tough guy he has grown into. Then again, he wasn't too tough for his 3 Snoopy and 1 Tweety Bird band aids.

So here I caught my big guy watching tv afterwards. He doesn't like it when I bring my camera out and chase him with it. He lets his younger brother do all the "mom modeling."

Lastly I will end with a picture of my big guy back when we has 1. It's crazy to think that he was ever this little!

Lazy Day

Today was just one of those days. The weather was gloomy, so it made for a perfect stay-at-home kind of day. I did venture out in the drizzle to pick up two movies from the local Redbox. I already watched Burlesque, which I really liked, and am about to relax and enjoy my evening with Dwayne Johnson in Faster!

I did play around in Photoshop Elements for a little while though. My older son found some cool pictures on the Internet, taken with a tilt-shift lens. He liked how they looked "toy-like." I do not own a tilt-shift lens, but I do recall there being a way to do the affect in Photoshop, so off I went to play. I took this picture of my lonely car sitting outside to use as my practice.

Now here it is after I did the tilt-shift affect on it. Kind of looks like a Hot Wheel car.

Lastly, I did get this cute shot of my youngest. He was in his room playing a computer game. I love when I get his genuine smiles. He has a great smile in pictures, but I love the "true" smile!

Alright, I think I hear The Rock calling out my name (oh yeah, I wish!). I am off to enjoy my movie!

An active, family day!

Since we had a beautiful day ahead of us, we figured we would get out and enjoy it! First stop, a walk down to Salt Creek Beach. I normally do this walk with my friends (well to be honest, it has been a LONG time since I've gone). We packed up the boys' scooters so they could ride the path, while Dan and I kept up a good pace. The reward for taking this path is that you come out to the beautiful Pacific Ocean! All along we passed many beautiful wild flowers. We decided to make the trek up the "dreaded" hill to the Ritz...

I'm so glad we did. I got so many beautiful pictures up there.

I also found some good flowers growing on the side of the hill (I'm thinking they like the view as much as I do) and this little guy...

I also got a cute shot of my guys. My oldest is NOT a big photo guy, but trust me, he was there!
Lastly I got some more pictures on the walk back to the car. The total walk was 3.6 miles! A great workout!

After our walk, we went home and got cleaned up. Then we walked, yet again, but this time it was across the street, to have a nice lunch and then watch the movie Diary Of A Wimpy Kid 2. We all really enjoyed the movie! Now it is time to relax. The day is done and we are on Spring Break!! No having to wake up early for the whole week!!!!!!!
